Qualifications
Applicants must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school or college of pharmacy (or B.S. in pharmacy with equivalent experience); be a U.S. citizen; be eligible for licensure in Virginia; and have a positive vision for community pharmacy practice. Experience in community-based pharmacy is preferred.
How to Apply
The applicant will apply to the VCU School of Pharmacy residency program choosing only one site for the application (one application includes all practice sites) using the Pharmacy Online Centralized Residency Application Service (PhORCAS) and should provide the following:
- Completed application
- Letter of intent with a statement of career goals and reasons for pursuing a community-based pharmacy practice residency
- Verified transcripts
- Current curriculum vitae
- Three letters of recommendation on the residency recommendation form (one of which must come from an employer or supervisor)
- Extracurricular activities
On-site interviews may be required for applicants at the discretion of the selection committee. All sites participate in the ASHP matching process.
Deadline
All information must be submitted in PhORCAS no later than January 2 of the year in which admission is sought.
